Every year, COT attends the DFWWeCARE event, a local event dedicated to handing out school supplies and backpacks to children in need. This year, it was at Math Science Technology Magnet Elementary School on August 8th. There is a morning shift and an afternoon shift, but this year we only did the morning shift. We have stayed for the afternoon shift in the past. The morning shift consists of unpacking boxes of prepackaged school supplies and placing them inside backpacks. The volunteers add blank name tags to the backpacks after packing all the necessary supplies into the backpacks. Volunteers also take care of organizing or disposing of the aftermath.
